Holy Grail Burger

Absolutely delicious. For starters we had mozzarella croquettes and onion rings with dips, their tomato dip is particularly good. For the mains we had the Holy Grail burger and the Camelot burger, these were absolutely fantastic, so much so that I couldn't finish my fries. I was full. For drinks we had coffee and a pint and a half of the house beer. I don't usually drink, but this beer was very moreish, and far too easy to drink. Couldn't manage to fit a dessert in, so I think we'll be visiting again just to try their dessert. The staff are really friendly, attentive and polite. They even helped me out with my Portuguese pronunciations (I'm English trying to learn Portuguese) and they gave my wife a placemat to take home because she loved the design. The little details such as the placemats, the leather bound menus made to look like old books (printed in several languages) and the little chest that the bill comes in are great touches which makes it stand out. If you are visiting Lisbon or Belem, this place is worth a visit. And, if you do visit Holy Grail, say hello to Antonio (Tony) he is an amazing host.

Great place to visit. Atmosphere, food and service all good. The menu is interesting with different language options available such as English, French and Portuguese. Burgers were wonderfully flavoured and just the right portion size, they have interesting craft soda flavours besides the normal ones like Peach and Ginger craft soda or Lemon and Mate just to mention a few. The dessert menu also has a number of great options. We tried the cheese cake, chocolate duo mousse and ice cream with chocolate sauce or red fruits. Just a side note regarding the plumbing at the restaurant, it is still uses the old system whereby one would dispose of the tissue in a bin.

This place delivers on the name. That's a tall order. It feels a little off the beaten track for tourists. It's up a hill and fairly unassuming from the outside - but once you step inside everything changes... The atmosphere is well done. Nothing over the top but all on theme, very clean and well spaced out tables. The theme continues as you are seated. The menu comes in a small faux leather bound book like some type of old scripture. Lots of little touches like this make it fun and atmospheric while still making the quality and taste of the meal the star of the show. The Indiana Burger was recommended so I went for it. Very, very nice. The beef was ideal for a burger. Cooked very nicely and slightly rare as is normal for much of Europe. Full of flavour and nicely seasoned. The toppings complimented each other very well. Nothing overpowering - except perhaps for the jalapenos but you want that. Even the shape of the potato wedges was clever to better hold the seasoning and your choice if sauce. All very well done. Service was also on another level. Our waiter was extremely kind, courteous and spoke perfect English (as we tried our best to muddle through our broken Portuguese). They were friendly, and very attentive to know when to come over and when to leave us to it - all without us saying a word. All in all a great experience for the price and well worth a visit.
